cincinnati children’s project echo Programs

Eligibility – completion of Cincinnati Children’s Project ECHO: Depression or Anxiety courses. 

Apply what you learned in the Anxiety and Depression courses and continue to expand the “how” of pediatric medical management of mental health problems.   Best Practices for common mental health scenarios encountered in primary care will be covered along with ongoing practice coaching by child and adolescent psychiatrists and child psychologists.   Each session represents a theme, and includes relevant psychopharmacology, office interventions, and communication strategies that amplify basic knowledge to a new practice confidence level. 

Course Overview: In 2024 we will be moving to once a month sessions with an emphasis on pyschopharmacology.

The second Wednesday evening of the month from 6:30 PM - 7:45 PM (EDT)

Dates (Five sessions)

February 14, March 13, April 10, May 8, and June 12
Fall 2024 sessions will be August 14, September 11, October 9, November 13, and December 11.

Featured Faculty

Emily Harris, MD, MPH, FAAP

Dr. Harris is the Director of Psychiatry Pediatric Integration. She is board certified in pediatrics, adult psychiatry, and child and adolescent psychiatry. She provides direct clinical care as a general pediatrician in primary care offices and as an outpatient child and adolescent psychiatrist for Cincinnati Children’s at the College Hill campus.

F. Lynne Merk PhD
Dr. Merk is a Staff Psychologist within the Division of Behavioral Medicine and Clinical Psychology at Cincinnati Children’s.  She is the Clinical Supervisor for Integrated Behavioral Health providers within the Physician Hospital Organization.   Dr. Merk provides direct clinical care for children and teens of all ages.  While she is a generalist, Dr. Merk has special interests and training in providing evidence-based treatment for those with anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and depression.  She also has a special interest in helping individuals manage physical health concerns.  Dr. Merk has provided training to various groups within and outside CCHMC regarding evidence-based treatment for various psychological conditions. 

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, Cincinnati Children’s is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

CME – Cincinnati Children’s designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ per session. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

MOC – Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the activity and individual assessment of and feedback to the learner, enables the learner to earn up to 1.25 MOC points per session in the American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABP MOC credit.

CNE – This activity is approved for a maximum 1.25 continuing nursing education (CNE) contact hours per session. *Some sessions CE activity is designed for the additional hours required for APRNs with prescriptive authority in Ohio.*
